I visited to the Cotswold Arms with my family (including my five month old nephew in a buggy) yesterday. This is my first posting on Trip advisor, but was so impressed by the ambience of the place, the excellent service provided by the (two) staff and the quality of the food that I felt compelled to do so. We had a variety of meals, Toad in the Hole (with delicious local sausages), steaks, vegetarian lasagne and chilli all of which was served promptly considering that the pub was full with drinkers and diners. Okay, it's not Cordon Bleu, but it was fantastic pub grub, for a reasonable price served with the warmth and welcome we wanted. We are all looking forward to visiting again when it's a bit warmer and making use of the pub garden.

"The Cotswold Arms is a pleasent old stone building on the main road through Burford. There is some on street parking available. We visited for an evening meal for two. Very friendly welcome and efficient and friendly service throughout the evening. The meals we chose was sirlion steak, and blue cheese and walnut souffle. The steak was cooked to perfection and the souffle was very enjoyable. We drank Rioja with our meal and it complemented the meal well. " -review by Yahoops, Andover

When you meet an old friend and share an embrace it gives you a warm feeling inside, and when you visit The Cotswold Arms you get that very same feeling. Proprietors Kizzy and Chris ensure all customers are given the friendliest of welcomes, and their team are always more than happy to help, whether it’s to draw your attention to the variety of daily specials on offer, or to help you choose from the selection of wines available by both the glass and bottle. They also serve quality real ales from local breweries, including Hook Norton and White Horse. The menu gets better year-on-year and features dishes made using free-range meat from Foxbury Farm. Don’t miss the steak night every Friday, which offers cuts such as rump, rib-eye, sirloin, fillet and T-bone.
The pub is easy to spot at the bottom of the High Street because of its beautiful collection of hanging baskets and tubs. It also boasts a top-notch beer garden, offering plenty of space, lots of tables, spots in which to enjoy both shade and sun, a beautiful waterfall and stunning roses. Make sure you keep an eye out for the pub’s cats too. The Cotswold Arms is simply a great food-and-drink pub for anyone and everyone to enjoy – make sure you leave plenty of time to experience all it has to offer

We had a lovely meal at the Cotswold Arms on a Saturday evening in January. There's a nice log fire in the bar section and a general cosy feeling. The food was delicious - we had vegetarian chilli with basmati rice and tortilla chips and homemade burger and chips. Offered way more vegetarian choice than anywhere else in Burford - which tends to concentrate on traditional English meat dishes. Nice staff and service and reasonable prices. Dessert looked lovely but we were unfortunately too full to try it!

A few times a year we visit Burford and the Cotswold Arms is a restaurant that is always on our list of "places to eat". Typical British food and pub atmosphere, huge choice and generous portions. Lots of vegetarian choices as well and honest prices. The deserts are MUST TRIES.

An adhoc evening started with a drink here ready to move on to eat. As the evening prgressed 5 became 6 then 7 then 9 to eat! Not many places can suddenly manage an influx of than number so we tentatively asked if there was room. After a short pause for thought we were informed that with a quick rearrangement of tables room could be made! Suffice to say we had a great meal, wonderful food and good value! Everyone was impressed with their meals and commented that they would return again - and we will!

We had dinner at the Cotswold Arms on a Sunday break in Burford. Their food was absolutely gorgeous and the staff was kind and very attentive, which is a bit rare in pubs usually. We didn't have any alcoholic drinks so I cannot say anything about the drinks being served there. Acceptable prices too.

Lovely supper. We knew there was entertainment on and planned to only stay for a couple of songs. The performer was so good and we had so much fun with the bartender and other guests we stayed until close. We got up and sang and danced and had a OUSTANDING time. Very intimate, comfortable setting. We highly recommend!

We booked a table at the Cotswold Arms for a birthday, there were five in the party and were shown to our table as soon as we arrived. The food was excellent, steaks from a local farm cooked to perfection. Good value too.
